Noah Lyles Took a Fresh Step

“I want my own shoe. I want a sneaker..." said Noah Lyles after blazing across the 100m finish line in Paris with a personal best 9.79s time. His Paris 100m win not only made him the Olympic champion, but also gave him the perfect moment to shoot his shot with the sneaker giants. Well, the Sprint King’s dream is still far from true! But, today, 11 months later, Lyles has been seen with new shoes, and needless to say, it's turning heads!

Lyles and his fiancée, Junelle Bromfield, recently did a photoshoot for Adidas’ new shoe line: the Climacool Laced. Honestly, who better to unveil a new running shoe than the track’s power couple? After all, both the sprinters hail from sprint heavyweight nations, the USA and Jamaica. Watch Lyles and Junelle flaunting the latest launch here! Even 3-time Olympic medalist Daryll Neita couldn’t help but comment: “Obsessed!" And you know what’s more special to it…

Climacool Laced, which hit the stores on July 15, has a distinctive off-white body, contrasted by a bold black lacing system. It is designed and 3D-printed as a single piece. It’s clear that Adidas is stepping up its game in the running shoe category and going futuristic! And that day might not be far off when Noah Lyles gets his very own signature sneaker…

After all, basketball legends like Michael Jordan and LeBron James have long dominated the sneaker scene with their own lines, while runners like Michael Johnson and others never got that chance. So it’s high time that the track shines!

Teens vs Track Titans

The teens who once sat for high school exams are now gearing up for a BIG test! High school sprinters: Tate Taylor (17) and Maurice Gleaton Jr. (18) have entered the 2025 USATF Outdoor Championships. Well, Tate’s going for the sprint double (100 & 200m), while Maurice is locked in for the 100m. Both will face elite sprinters like Lyles, Bednarek, Coleman, and Kerley. But do they have what it takes to stand against the pros?

These teens can run fast, and we've seen that. In May, at the Texas State Championships, Tate blasted through the 100m in 9.92s, breaking the U.S. high school record. That time made him the #2 man in the world back then, and it’s still faster than what Fred Kerley (9.98), Noah Lyles (10.00), or Christian Coleman (10.06) have run legally this year. Also, at the Nike Indoor Nationals, Tate broke Noah’s U.S. U-20 indoor 200m record with a blazing 20.46. Since then, he’s gone even faster, clocking a 20.16s season’s best. So yeah, Tate has it in him. And Maurice?

Don't sleep on him either because at the Star Athletics Sprint Series this year, he ran 9.87s in the prelims and 9.82s in the finals, beating Christian Coleman, who ran 10.03s and 9.93s in those races. Watch Maurice smoking Coleman below! Now, with both teenagers stepping into a field full of pros at the Nationals, the question remains: ‘Is it too soon?’

On one side, you’ve got seasoned champs with years of experience. On the other side, two young athletes have taken up a high-pressure task. Plus, an early knockout can also take a toll on them. But, they do look ready. Just last month, Tate said, "I know I’m young, but I’m a big believer in everything happens for a reason…" And Maurice? He gave Coleman a stare-down after beating him. That’s fire.

So, let’s see what happens!

The Grand Slam Track Saga Ends!

A lot has been said about the Grand Slam Track, but today, we’re closing the thread…

GST started off with a big promise: A $12.6M prize purse, 4 charged meets, and a vision to put track & field under the spotlight. Sure, it didn’t have stars like Noah or Sha’Carri, but it roped in global athletes. Well, quite a few things did go right: World Leads, fierce rivalry, new names took the center stage, Kenny Bednarek praised the first-class flight tickets, and the media exposure are just a few to mention. But of course, there were problems….

On June 12, the LA leg was suddenly canceled. And now GST owes $13 million in unpaid fees to athletes, plus more to vendors. Also, Athletes like Gabby Thomas have publicly demanded their dues. Even Alexis Ohanian and the World Athletics President have weighed in, calling it a tough situation. But today, we finally heard from the man behind it all, Michael Johnson….

Johnson has finally admitted that the GST ran into major trouble when a key investor backed out. “That was a blow to us….It caused major, major cash flow issues,” he said. Around the same time, the U.S. economy saw April’s “seismic shift,” new tariffs added pressure. Looking back at it all, he said, the GST “probably went too fast.” Watch Michael Johnson’s full confession here!

But here’s the thing we know: Johnson is fully committed to making things right. GST has already promised to pay out the Kingston prize money by the end of July and the remaining payments by the end of September. And it looks like those promises are on track. Johnson said, “It’s what I wake up in the middle of the night working on and thinking about. And what I wake up every morning focused on.” Oh, and 2026?

They are hoping to be back. Winners Alliance, a mega investor, is already on board. So yes, there might be a next season!
