September 21, 2025 | Edition #253

👋 Hey, Speedster!

9 days flew by, and the World Champs have come to an end. But the final day didn’t disappoint. From Sydney to Sha’Carri to Coleman, stars lit up the track, with plenty highlights. The only miss? The men’s 4×400m relay team faced a tough blow...

It was a strong day on the track for Team USA’s Men’s 4×100m Relay squad. They clocked a world-leading 37.29s time, the fifth-fastest time in history for the American men's relay team. And luckily, this time, unlike in Paris, the handoff between Coleman and Bednarek went off without a hitch!

More history was made in the Women’s 800m Final as Lilian Odira ran the race of her life, winning in a championship record time of 1:54.62. She crossed the line ahead of Georgia Hunter-Bell and Keely Hodgkinson, who took silver and bronze to end Team GB’s 18-year wait to have two Brit athletes on the same worlds podium in an event!

The weather in Tokyo today was brutal. Heavy rain poured during the Men’s Discus and Women’s High Jump finals, turning the field into a slippery mess. Officials kept rushing in with towels to dry the throwing circle, but it barely helped. World #2 Matt Denny slipped mid throw and then abandoned his attempt in frustration. Eventually, the rain got so bad that field events were suspended for a few hours. But even when it resumed, the circle wasn’t fully dried and Lukas Weißhaidinger slipped and fell on his back. He even changed his footwear several times, but never got a proper grip. Watch his fall below…
