World Athletics is taking things to the next level! They just launched a World Treadmill Championship for 2026 and the prize pool is massive! The eligibility conditions are also quite simple— open to all recreational and professional runners. It’s a great attempt to bridge the gap between casual and elite running. More on the format below…
World Athletics is partnering with Technogym to launch a global indoor running competition: the World Treadmill Championship, also called Run X, in 2026. The exact date remains TBD.
There will be a $100,000 prize pool and a wild card entry to the World Road Running
