What about an actual polar bear showing up at the Polar Bear Marathon? Well, that’s exactly what happened last week in Churchill. When race officials headed out to mark the course for the annual marathon, they were met by a massive polar bear that decided the 10-kilometer marker was a toy. The scene quickly turned into a spectacle. Of course, the race already has a long, wild history with polar bears, beyond the extreme conditions it’s famous for. But that’s a story for another day.
