Day 8’s morning session is now off the mark with the women’s 20km race walk final done and dusted. And Spain’s Maria Perez just made history. Fresh off her 35km race walk gold a week ago, she struck gold again in 1:25:54. That makes her the only woman to pull off the 20km–35km double twice, after Budapest. Plus, she joins legends like Carl Lewis, Usain Bolt, and Mo Farah on the list of those who have consecutive World doubles.
