September 13, 2025 | Edition #238

👋 Hey, Speedster!

It’s only Day 1 of the World Championships, and things are already happening beyond expectation. Relay drama, health scare, and a lot more has taken place in the morning session. So we’ve put together a quick Flash edition to keep you in the loop…

Women’s 10,000m Final: 8:30 a.m. ET

Today’s evening session promises more drama. At 21:30 p.m. (local time), all eyes turn to the women’s 10,000m, and this one looks like Beatrice Chebet's for the taking. She’s the reigning Olympic champ and world record holder, after all. But Gudaf Tsegay should be right behind her, in the silver spot. As for bronze, it’s wide open this time. From Ejgayehu Taye, world lead Janeth Chepngetich, and Nadia Battocletti, all have a chance. Possibly even Emily Infeld can pull off something special for Team USA!

Men’s Shot Put Final: 8:10 a.m. ET

Expect more action from the field this evening, with the Shot Put final. And here’s how we think it’s podium would turn out. Without competing all season, world record holder Ryan Crouser still looks strong to become the third man ever to win three World titles in this event. He threw a massive 21.27m on his first attempt in the qualification round this morning. Chasing him will be Leonardo Fabbri, the world lead, who could also make history as Italy’s first-ever men’s shot put champion. But we think he'd be good for a silver tonight. As for bronze, Payton Otterdahl was our pick...unfortunately, his elbow injury flared up after qualifiers round. But, the next best definitely is Tom Walsh!
