Team USA had plenty to cheer for today in the women’s Pole Vault final, with not one but two Americans on the podium. Katie Moon achieved a three peat at the World Championships after clearing the 4.90m mark, in a nail-biting final. She took the early lead tonight with 4.80m on her first try, but Sandi Morris answered back at 4.85m. That left Moon with no choice but to go for 4.90m, and after multiple failed attempts, she finally nailed it on her very last leap, to bag gold. Watch Moon’s winning moment below…

Athlete: Moh Ahmed has scratched out of the men’s 5000m.
Severity: While running the 10,000m at the Worlds, with just two laps to go, he re-aggravated a calf strain. The same has now caused him to withdraw from the 5000m.
Odds of Return: Ahmed won't be returning this season, which is a tough setback, especially considering he was the 5000m Olympics silver medalist here in Tokyo.

It was sweltering tonight in Tokyo. At 34°C with 77% humidity, today went down as the most intense day of the World Championships so far!
