Joe Kovacs at Diamond League Final

Did You Know

The end of the revenge tour? Maybe. Joe Kovacs dropped a monster 22.46m throw to grab the Diamond League final title on August 27—and with it, a Wild Card spot. Sounds perfect, right? Well, not exactly. Here’s the real picture: Kovacs isn’t officially qualified for the Tokyo World Athletics Championships. And the Wild Card? He can’t even use it unless one of the other four Team USA guys scratches. For now, he’s only listed as a “Reserve Athlete” for Worlds 2025. “I can only control what I can control,” Kovacs said afterward. Tough break… or maybe just fate playing its part. What do you think?
