Did You Know

Did you know? After defeating the world record holder in Brussels, Ralford Mullings will casually head back to college on Monday at Oklahoma University, where he’s a senior in industrial and systems engineering. Competing for the same college, he clinched this year’s NCAA discus title, while shattering a 33-year-old meet record. So for OU, Mullings is no less than a star. But what’s wild is that he never even planned on being a discus thrower. Back in ninth grade, a teacher randomly placed him in shot put and discus, though he hadn’t even signed up. But something clicked. And by the age of 15, Mullings was already wearing Jamaica’s colors at the CARIFTA Games. Isn't that incredible?
