This moment in Tokyo truly won hearts! Tim Van de Velde, a Belgian athlete, had a rough day after slipping on a beam and falling into a water pit during the 3,000m steeplechase. But what happened next was rare. When he spotted a fellow competitor Carlos San Martin, who had also tumbled earlier, Van de Velde slowed down to help him. They then crossed the finish line together, arm in arm, earning a roar of applause from the stadium. Only some know what it takes for this sportsmanship to be seen at the Worlds Champs!

Athlete: Megan Tapper has withdrawn from the women's 100m hurdles heats after suffering a Grade 1B hamstring strain.
Severity: The injury is relatively minor, but with the 100m hurdles starting in Tokyo before she can fully recover, the 31-year-old’s chance at her first World Championships medal is unfortunately over.
Official statement:While I am deeply disappointed not to represent Jamaica on this occasion, I am incredibly proud of the journey to this point and the unwavering support I’ve received.”
Odds of return: With no time to recover, Tapper won’t be competing at the Worlds.
