As promised, EssentiallySports Daily will bring forth the juiciest stories every day which have taken the sports fraternity by a whirlwind, starting with the Olympics and Simone Biles’s dazzling necklace. Although not as shiny as her 6th gold, it sends a powerful message out in the world.

Talking about the gold, Biles has garnered many wishes after clinching it, but the one from Jonathan Owen will surely be the most cherished. And we will soon talk all about it. Biles wasn’t the only one on the USA gymnastics team to get a medal, though. Suni Lee fought off a series of self-doubt and redeemed herself!

In other news, Aaron Brooks has done or once did the unthinkable, something even the bodybuilding GOAT, Arnold Schwarzenegger, never thought about and shocked the world. So, let’s dive into it!

🙌 HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY

Simone Biles Dazzles 546-Carat Diamond Necklace With a Strong Message

Be it sport or fashion, Simone Biles knows how to make a statement, and that too with a perfect shine! In case you’ve missed it, the most decorative gymnast of all time has clinched her 6th Olympic gold, but that wasn’t the only thing around her neck after the win. Biles flaunted a lustrous necklace studded with 546 diamonds. Yes, the 3D, GOAT necklace has over 500 diamonds! The pendant maker, Janet Heller Fine Jewelry, confirmed that the shape has an intricate design with a beard, all covered with diamonds. Well, that’s one way to claim the GOAT label in style.

But the necklace has more meaning than just being a fashion accessory. It is a double-edged sword, as Biles wanted to celebrate with her fans and flaunt it to her critics too. “My GOAT necklace is just kind of an ode, because the people love it, and some people hate it. So, it’s the best of both worlds,” said the 27-year-old. But more so, the Olympian knew her fans would love it more than anything. And man, she was not wrong in her observations. The supporters did go crazy!

However, in the end, Biles again showed her humble side and said she is just “Simone Biles from Spring, Texas, that loves to flip.” And people love to watch!

Jonathan Owens’ First Public Statement About Simone Biles’ Paris Olympics Victory

Jonathan Owens’s love for Simone Biles has been out in the public many times. The Chicago Bears safety isn’t shy of showing support to his wife, despite the criticism he has received. Owens was given special leeway to miss the NFL training camp and cheer for Biles’s majestic at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Not everyone understood the decision, but Owens and his team did. And the husband was left stunned once again.

Just a few days ago, Owens was lost for words after Biles earned her 8th Olympic medal. But now, with the 9th in the bag, the 29-year-old had just six words to appreciate her historical moves. Talking to EssentiallySports correspondent, Shreya Verma, Owens gave his first statement about Biles’ win. He said, “I love it. I’m so proud,” with a sparkle in his eyes, which was all for the gymnast. Owens was seen diligently writing down every point Biles scored at the team finals, claiming the biggest fan title of her wife.

So once, Owens was thrashed heavily when he decided to fly over to Paris and overlook his career for a bit. Now, the netizens loved the outright display of love and support by the Chicago Bears safety of the American treasure.

😎 HERO OF THE DAY

Suni Lee Fights Off 3 Years of Self Doubt to Win Paris Olympics Medal

Three years, battling two incurable kidney diseases, and a plethora of criticism from the masses. In the end, Suni Lee hoisted her hand, bit into the bronze, and got the redemption of the season. The hope was not all lost when the 21-year-old was diagnosed with debilitating kidney issues. However, there was a speckle of doubts from the world as they deemed her undeserving of the Tokyo gold she had earned. Would she be able to win again? And win another medal after the Tokyo Olympics gold?

The constant backlash had taken a toll on Lee and her kidney ailments had stopped her NCAA career in its tracks. The trouble was doubling down. Even Lee doubted her abilities, as the answers were daunting. She said, “I honestly forget that I won the Olympics sometimes.” However, she rose above the hate and self-doubt. At the Paris Olympics all-around final, the Olympian faced her compatriot Simone Biles for the glorious gold defense. Although Lee couldn’t have the gold, with bronze around her neck, the 21-year-old broke through the shackles and proved her worth once again with an impressive 56.465.

So, although coaches Jeff and Jess Graba were unaware of Lee’s mental capacity, she fought the mental demons and became one of the 12 women gymnasts to have two all-around medals!

Arnold Schwarzenegger Would Lose to Aaron Brooks at 16 in This Record

14 years ago, Aaron Brooks wrote his name in the history books of powerlifting as he lifted 99.21 lbs at the budding age of 9. The decade-old video of a young Penn State alum can be viewed on YouTube, where after weeks of training, Brooks easily lifted the weight way above his whole body and then, shook the dust off like he had not just done something unthinkable. Starting strength training from the age of six, Brooks had more strength than other elementary schoolers. So, when his father, John Brooks’ students at the ISS program in South Hagerstown, brought a book from the library and showed the world record, he said, “Aaron could probably bench that, so we went home and I benched it. We were like, okay, we’ll go break it.”

He actually broke it, something Arnold Schwarzenegger could not do at the age of 15 or even 16. It took the 7-time Mr. Olympia, more training intensive training under Kurt Marnul to reach the defeat that Brooks had achieved at age 9. Now, the 24-year-old races for another glorious title as he gears up to make his debut at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Brooks defeated the Tokyo gold medalist, David Taylor in the April Olympic Trial and secured his berth in Paris.

The 4-time collegiate champion now looks forward to winning the gold medal [something Schwarzenegger never accomplished] at the temporary Champ de Mars Arena near the Eiffel Tower. The question remains, will Aaron Brooks earn the coveted title and become a world-class athlete?
