Sydney Flies Through 400m Final to Pull Off the Impossible |
She just did what no one could in the last 40 years, that too on a rain-soaked track in Tokyo. |


As you read above, Sydney just became the 400m Champion, despite having competed in this event for the first time at the Worlds. But we have seen her dominate the 400m hurdles in the past, too. So tell us,

All Australians were rooting for the 17-year-old Gout Gout in this 200m semifinal heat, but the competition was stacked with pros. Jamaica’s Bryan Levell and Olympic champ Letsile Tebogo were also in the mix. And while Gout Gout gave it his all, but his Worlds campaign came to an end after a 20.36s run, that saw him finish 18th overall. In the same heat though, Bryan Levell stole the show with a blazing 19.78s time, qualifying as the second fastest, even ahead of Tebogo. Watch the dramatic 200m semi below…

Yesterday was the warmest day of the World Championships, and today it poured down in the Japanese capital. Heavy showers made it the “coolest” evening yet, with temperatures around 24°C. And yes, the track did get wet and slippery. But luckily, it caused no injuries!
