Last Saturday, Melissa Jefferson-Wooden returned to Myrtle Beach, SC, to host her 4th annual youth track and field clinic, just a month after making history as the first American woman to win gold in both the 100m and 200m at the World Championships. Well, more than 120 young athletes from South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia came together at Myrtle Beach High School to learn from one of the sport’s brightest stars. The event wasn’t just about training. It was about building community and inspiring the next generation, something Jefferson-Wooden says everyone needs. Meanwhile, an elite track coach also marked the occasion by celebrating Melissa’s powerful impact, recognizing how she continues to give back to the sport that made her a champion.
