Worlds Day 2 Begins With Drama

September 14, 2025 | Edition #240
👋 Hey, Speedster!
A fresh day of action unfolds at the World Athletics Championships! Not quite the packed stadium we saw last night, but definitely just as much enthusiasm. However, the energy dipped for a moment after what went down today…the 1500m in particular was absolutely wild…

Women’s 100m Final: 9:13 a.m. ET
Tonight’s session also promises the much-awaited women’s 100m final and we can’t keep silent about how sharp Julien Alfred looked in qualifying, leading with 10.93s. That and the rest of her season were so good, that we’re keeping her in the gold spot. Melissa Jefferson is another name who is a favorite to podium and we think she’ll be good for silver. As for bronze, that’s where the real challenge begins. Sha’Carri Richardson, Tina Clayton, Daryll Neita, and Jamaica’s power duo Shericka and Shelly-Ann are all in the mix. Just watch how Richardson took control yesterday in the qualification rounds, below.

But judging by this season’s form, our pick for that last podium spot is Clayton!

Men’s 100m Final: 7:20 a.m. ET
When 8 of the year’s fastest 100m men line up together, it’s definitely going to be blazing quick. But for our podium picks, we’ve got Kishane taking gold. The world leader has been in brilliant form all season, and this might just be the moment he bags his first Worlds title. For silver, we’re leaning toward Noah, even though he and Kishane both clocked identical 9.95s in the prelims. Also despite Seville's shaky start yesterday, we’re slotting him in for bronze. But he has beaten Lyles before, so a shake-up for a gold or silver is possible too!
